—Mauricio Bitencourt, Projeler
Intalio has been in business for over 8 years, and has always focused on BPM. Intalio wrote the first white paper on BPMS, helped to write the first BPM language called BPML, which evolved into BPEL, and helped to write the BPMN specification. Intalio is a clear thought leader in this space.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
We selected Intalio over its competitors because of their extensive use of industry standards such as BPMN and BPEL, their Zero-Code development model and One-Click-Deploy architecture, the responsiveness of their technical support team, and a 'think big, start small' start-up mentality.
—Pierre-Philippe Bastin, Callatay and Wouters

Product
My experience with Business Process Management and Workflow is based on the automation of the standards production chain at the ISO Central Secretariat in Geneva. At that time, I had just a workflow engine for the orchestration of services. With a product like Intalio|BPMS, my job would have been much simpler.
—Alexander Samarin, ISO
Using Intalio|BPMS will allow projects to be deployed within two to four weeks, instead of the multi-month or multi-year cycles traditionally associated with large-scale IAM projects. We evaluated many other BPM solutions currently available on the market, but no other product came close to Intalio's in terms of robustness, scalability, and ease of deployment.
—Ameet Shah, Diamelle

—Harish Krishnaji Rao, e4e, Inc.
After building three prototypes with Intalio and two competing products, I was sure that the Intalio approach was the best.
—Heinz Drews, Computer Sciences Corporation
Our experience in sales coaching and practice improvement has demonstrated that customer-related processes are the most critical and complex in any organization. Yet, sales people and executives need to keep very flexible practices, as market needs are constantly shifting. While using CRM or ERP solutions can certainly help deal with standard processes (30 to 50% of end-to-end processes), it cannot provide enough flexibility to support unique sales processes that set a company apart from its competition. Our customers are now starting to realize how BPM can be applied to customer satisfaction and loyalty building. Over other BPM solutions that are available in the market today, I believe Intalio|BPMS is the best choice for many reasons: it protects customer's investment on the long term using standard approaches and technologies, it represents the lowest total cost of ownership, and above all, it is highly flexible and reactive, allowing us to change processes on the fly.
—Hicham Jellab, OperMIX
We selected Intalio|BPMS as a best of breed in the new category of BPMS based on its thorough implementation of BPEL4WS. Our decision was also influenced by the maturity of Intalio's integrated tools covering the design, deployment and management of enterprise IT processes that can be directly deployed onto an existing heterogeneous IT infrastructure consisting of both new best-of-breed and legacy applications that comprise today's distributed computing environment.
—Howard Smith, Computer Sciences Corporation
It would not surprise me if Intalio has the fastest BPEL engine hands-down.
—Jeff Schneider, MomentumSI
There is more to the tool than meets the eye. Its capabilities will surprise you.
—Jesse Velasco, MSI
I must say that 5.0 is a joy to work with.

Intalio|BPMS is the greatest BPM product currently available from the open source industry.
—Nagaraj P., e4e, Inc.
Part of our decision to adopt Intalio|BPMS was its technical architecture and capabilities. From modeling to execution, we were pleased to see that Intalio engineers decided to rely on many industry standards and Open Source building blocks. Our main challenge was to integrate the Intalio|Workflow (Project Tempo) with the Open Source LifeRay portal, our preferred portal framework. Tempo uses proven and well-known frameworks and standards, such as Spring, Web Flow, XForms, and AJAX. As a result, our technical team was able to start working quickly on the integration project. Things went even faster once we engaged with Intalio's technical support team. Today, we are proud to offer a powerful duo that combines an enterprise-grade portal with solid foundations for sales process management, tightly integrated with external systems such as Salesforce.com and Oracle E-Business Suite.
—Natalie Watson, OperMIX
Intalio adopts the latest standards in the marketplace. This is important, since OpenSoft understands that clients are not looking for building a solution that will take them down a technical dead end, but rather need an attractive roadmap for aligning business needs with technical delivery capabilities, at an affordable cost.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
Because Intalio is open source, the challenge of having to make heavy investments upfront, and ending up with shelfware, is drastically reduced. Businesses can try the product out, and rapidly create a working proof-of-concept project with some training and coaching.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
Scalability is of concern to many, and at the Enterprise level, Intalio has proven that it works in very large environments such as the Dutch Government, which has one of the largest BPM implementations in the world.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
OpenSoft has now been working with the most recent Intalio|Designer version for several months. It is way ahead of the previous version, and better than most other BPM platforms.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
The functionality and richness of the platform, which includes support for the BPMN notation, process simulation, enterprise workflow, XForms form generation, data mapping, conditional logic, business rules integration, and BPEL process monitoring have added much value to the design, testing, and deployment of complex business processes.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
Intalio|Designer 5.0 has so much to offer, it is now up there with the best solutions currently available on the market. With Intalio|Designer 5.0, you are only limited by what you think, not what the platform can do.
—Neville Bradbury, OpenSoft Australia
Intalio|BPMS perfectly completes Thaler's SOA. It makes service orchestration and composite applications a reality, without having to write a single line of code. Application development enters a new era where business takes control back from IT.
—Pierre-Philippe Bastin, Callatay and Wouters
Please continue developing this product in order to make it the best of all!
—Rachid Nefsi, Lydec
Less of a product, more of a service revolution.
—Sean Mac Mahon, EPS
SAP customers with sophisticated needs in areas where NetWeaver falls short have two options: Wait for SAP to strengthen its offering or go with a third-party ISV. For mission-critical functionality that can't wait, firms should favor standards-based ISVs that are either "certified for" or "powered by" NetWeaver, like Intalio for BPM. Why? Buyers will get the functionality they need today with an insurance policy for moving to NetWeaver tomorrow.
—Sharyn Leaver, Forrester Research, Inc.
Great work! Keep it up.
—Shiu Ken Chong, ST Electronics

—Tom Debevoise, BKA, Inc.
Intalio|BPMS 5.0 will be a game-changer in the industry
—Tom Debevoise, BKA, Inc.
I have now tested Intalio|BPMS, and the product is great. I have been looking for such an Open Source platform for years, and I am glad it is finally available on the market. Your decision to use BPMN for modelling processes is right on, and so is the choice of Eclipse as underlying framework. It is really nice to see BPMN becoming ready for prime time through Intalio's work.
—Tore Storodegard, Mobic
The product is getting better and better.
—Ulrich Gumgowski, Lufthansa Systems Passenger Services
The release of Tempo -- the human interaction workflow component of the Intalio BPM suite -- to Open Source further demonstrates Intalio's industry leadership and commitment to making BPM 2.0 a reality. Tempo promotes the adoption of open standards, using XForms to implement the BPEL4People paper jointly drafted by IBM and SAP. Tempo raises the bar on what organizations should expect from a human interaction workflow component, and simultaneously eliminates cost as a barrier to adoption. I strongly encourage all interested parties to download, evaluate, and collaborate on enhancements to this significant contribution to the BPM and Open Source communities.

—Christian Thoma, University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe
IT organizations, ISVs and systems integrators all benefit from access to high quality, free implementations of advanced technologies. Increasing acceptance of open source technologies explains why they are becoming a popular foundation for learning and experimentation within the IT community.
—Dan Sholler, Gartner, Inc.
Services-oriented architectures are inherently more process centric than their predecessor information models. As IT organizations progress toward full SOA deployments, Gartner believes that BPEL will be important to organizations requiring process centricity in SOA applications.
—Daryl Plummer, Gartner, Inc.
BPEL will emerge as the leading industry standard for Web services flow composition (0.8 probability).
—David Smith, Gartner, Inc.
BPM is SOA's killer application, while SOA is BPM's enabling infrastructure.
—Ismael Ghalimi, Intalio
Standards are important because they lower complexity, a critical consideration for business process management. By leveraging standards such as BPEL and J2EE, organizations can reduce IT learning curves and deployment complexities, which ultimately translates into much lower costs of ownership.
—Janelle Hill, Gartner, Inc.
There has been a need for Open Source BPM solutions in the market place, but we haven't seen any candidates that meet the market need to date. That need is predicated on making BPM easy for lesser skilled process developers, and our hope is that this will evolve quickly enough to compete with the BPMS leaders.
—Jim Sinur, Gartner, Inc.
Watch out developers, the techie business analysts are coming!
—Jitu Barua, Capgemini
BPEL is the future of the integration space in my view… Why? Because the value is so much higher when you provide not only a way to integrate applications, but also a way to create services from them and put them into business processes.
—John Rymer, Forrester Research, Inc.
It's a foregone conclusion that BPEL is becoming the accepted standard for business process execution. It addresses 80 percent of the need, and people are rallying behind it.
—Ronald Schmelzer, ZapThink LLC
Open Source
Last year, we started a major renovation project for our product platform, and selected Intalio's Zero-Code BPM platform as underlying infrastructure for it. We adopted a step-by-step substitution process in order to integrate the new solution with pieces of the old one still alive. Support for Open Source and open standard have been critical in helping us complete the migration within a short timeframe, while supporting complex and dynamic integrations points. Tempo, Intalio's Open Source workflow framework, played a key role in making this project a success.
—Alessandro Fredianelli, ITAL TBS Group
Real business processes include human tasks, but they were somehow left out of the BPEL specification. IBM and SAP outlined a standard way for BPEL to embrace human workflow, called BPEL4People, but to my knowledge Tempo is the first implementation of that proposal. To make that part of an Open Source BPM framework is pretty amazing.
—Bruce Silver, BPMS Watch
BPMN has become an important factor driving business-IT alignment, since it is intuitive enough to be used by business analysts, yet rich enough to generate powerful service-oriented implementations. By contributing a BPMN tool to Eclipse, Intalio will further encourage that collaboration.
—Bruce Silver, BPMS Watch
I'm excited to get such a large contribution from Intalio in an area that's likely to be of significant interest to the EMF community at large. I look forward to working with Intalio on this.
—Ed Merks, Eclipse Foundation
Intalio's vision for Business Process Management is extremely impressive. The originality of their approach comes from the blending of a model-driven architecture and an Open Source development process. Their excellent contributions to the Eclipse STP project should strongly benefit to the ATL and MoDisco projects developed by INRIA and the University of Nantes.
—Jean Bezivin, INRIA
EBM WebSourcing is pleased to contribute to Intalio's Open Source BPMN modeler and JBI-compliant BPEL engine. We believe these components to be perfect extensions to our PEtALS Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Together, they form an enterprise-grade solution that can be used for building a solid Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
—Jean-Pierre Lorre, EBM WebSourcing
Intalio is a concept and an enterprise that demonstrate the best of what open source initiatives can deliver.
—Jose Diego de La Cruz, EPFL
Intalio's BPMN modeler is one of the more easy-to-use process modeling tools for business analysts. Making it available under an Open Source license will certainly broaden its user community and increase adoption for the BPMN standard.
—Leonor Ciarlone, Gilbane Group
Intalio and IONA are working closely together within the top-level Eclipse SOA Tools Platform (STP) project. Intalio has made a valuable contribution to the project in the form of their BPMN Editor, and continues to contribute updates and extensions on an ongoing basis. —Oisin Hurley, IONA
